After New Zealand won the first World Test Championship in Southampton, Kane Williamson responded by lifting the ICC Test Trophy for the first time. The trophy was heavier than imagined, according to the Kiwi captain.

The ICC Test Mace has been awarded to the top-ranked Test team in international cricket for many years. However, it was determined that the inaugural World Test Championship Final winner would earn the prized trophy.

Kane Williamson also used the opportunity to pay tribute to Ross Taylor and BJ Watling, two of New Zealand's most seasoned Test players.

Kane Williamson was thrilled to watch the side's veterans celebrate the big victory after experiencing countless knockout heartbreaks over the years.

The New Zealand team has arrived in Auckland and will be quarantined for 14 days. While in quarantine, BJ Watling has been tasked with looking after the trophy.

On the other hand, Kane Williamson did not travel with the rest of the team, opting to stay in England to compete in the inaugural edition of The Hundred with Birmingham Phoenix next month.
