Sri Lanka limited-overs series against India will begin on July 18 when the Sri Lankan government approves. Two members of the Sri Lankan team tested positive for COVID-19, putting the series in jeopardy. The Sri Lanka Cricket (SLC) retained two separate squads in different towns as a precautionary measure to reduce the potential of the fatal illness.

Now that all is settled, the white-ball series will begin on Sunday, July 18, with the first ODI being played at a slightly different time. The ODI matches will now start at 2:30 p.m. instead of 3:00 p.m. Following the ODIs, the T20Is will be played immediately after, with matches starting at 7:00 p.m. instead of 8:00 p.m.

Now that everything is in place, the SLC board is preparing to host Team India, led by Shikhar Dhawan. All of the live matches will be streamed on Sony's network, and they will be broadcast in five different languages. All of the games will be held in Colombo's R Premadasa Stadium.

Under the watchful eye of head coach Rahul Dravid, the Indian team is sweating it out by playing intrasquad games and practising hard. With the series approaching, gurus VVS Laxman and Irfan Pathan have provided their opinions on the Indian starting XI for the ODI matches.

Manish Pandey has been named at number six, and both Hardik and Krunal have been included in Laxman's playing XI.
