The ongoing pandemic has prompted several series to be cancelled. Despite stringent bio-bubble conditions, the virus has spread to the teams' camps, causing problems. Covid-19 posed problems in the recently ended Sri Lanka-India series.

Despite the setback, the Sri Lanka Cricket (SLC) has acknowledged Rahul Dravid's contribution in ensuring the series continued. After testing positive ahead of the second T20I, Krunal Pandya had to be confined. After being recognized as his close contacts, more than eight players were ordered to be segregated as a precaution.

For the remaining two T20Is, the Indian team was reduced to exactly 11 players. SLC secretary Mohan de Silva believes that Rahul Dravid and the squad could have quickly returned home, but they continued with the series. The India coach on tour understood the situation and appreciated the efforts SLC made was doing.

The series was beset with doubts after Covid-19 arrived at camp. The Indian squad, on the other hand, relied on their bench strength. India had swept Sri Lanka in the one-day international series and had won the first T20I.

On the other hand, the hosts outplayed the visitors in the final two T20Is, allowing Sri Lanka to win the series. The SLC reaped rewards of nearly 280 crore Sri Lankan rupees due to all of the matches played in the white ball series.
