Blackjack Switch Simple Strategy

The following tables show the fundamental strategy using the 8-deck rules after making the switch decision. The push-on 22 rule is the explanation for the variances as compared to the traditional blackjack strategy.

The gamer should double 9 against a 5 if 6 decks are used.

The "Simple Switching Strategy," which is applicable under the rules above, is as follows. It's based on the following list of hands, ranked from weakest to strongest:

21	20	19	AA	11	10	9	18 or 8	8,8 with 2-8 up

Here's how to put it to use.

Balance the hands against a dealer 7 or 8, if possible, by making the weaker hand as high as possible, utilizing the scale mentioned above of hands.

If you can, use the scale above to enhance the strength of the higher hand against any other dealer up card.

If you can't get one of the requested hands from the list, choose the strongest hand from the list below, in order of strength:

• 7 or 17
• any hand that should be split
• any 12
• any 13

Exceptions:

• Keep the aces together with A,A + 3,8.
• If the dealer has 2-6, keep the aces together with A,A + 2,9.
• Keep the aces together with A,A + 2,8.
• When compared to the ideal method, the simple technique has a cost of errors of 0.17%. An error occurs for every 18.6 hands, and for every 82 hands, a mistake with an expected value of more than 10% occurs.
